Title: Coaching Vacancies & Possible Replacements
Post by: Marshal Dillon on September 25, 2016, 07:00:46 PM
As they say, the first shoe has dropped with the Les Miles firing. Here are more possibilities along with some replacements.

Clay Helton USC: Tom Herman (played college ball in California), David Shaw
Les Miles LSU: Herman, J. Fisher, Petrino, Art Briles
Gus Malzahn Barn: Fisher & Petrino, & maybe another Bowden
Mark Stoops Kentucky: Hopeless, doesn't matter
Derek Mason Vandy: see Kentucky above
Jim Mora UCLA: Tom Herman
James Franklin Penn State: Joe Paterno, Jr.
Brian Kelly Notre Dame:
Mark Helfrich Oregon

Impressive list of programs who have problems.

The last 2 you have on the MD is really interesting to me. I just don't see ND firing Kelley this year. I know the reason is though: If that would be something happening you would hear it all over the place and I've heard nothing myself now. RTR!

The one thing I don't see is what coach in his right mind would go to either Vandy or Kentucky to coach for a few years and see his name degraded in the coaching arena? To me I would rather be a position coach on a winning team rather than a HC at a losing team. RTR!
