and Cam Cameron, too.

http://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/report-lsu-fires-coach-les-miles-offensive-coordinator-cam-cameron/

The timing of this surprises me.  I thought they would wait until the end of the season to do this.

It seems funny but everywhere Ed Oregeron goes somebody gets fired and he is the Interim HC. RTR!

Really!  And having met him I don't see how anybody would want him as a HC, even interim.

I look for LSU to make a strong run after Tom Herman of Houston.

I always liked Les. He was a good coach but he did not adapt and change his offensive philosophy as the rules and game changed.

The LSU boards list Herman, Jimbo Fisher, & Petrino as their picks. I don't think Petrino leaves, & Herman will stay at Houston if they join the Big 12. Jumbo I can see leaving for LSU.

Quick!  Someone (Jamos) go tell Coach Saban to hire Herman and Petrino to work on the Bama staff before LSwhU gets to them...

OK, I'll be the first to say it...

Dude!  It's Stoops...

Seriously, I'd like to know what was said in the LSU locker room after then end-of-game mess last night.  I wonder if the players were mouthing off at the coaches, and indication that Les had lost the respect of the team.

ADDED.... Cecil's comment...

Know him?  No.
I met him, was introduced, he grunted something and mispronounced my name. He's barely civilized.  :dunno:

Head coach at Ole Miss.  (Replaced by Houston Nutt after two disaster seasons).

Interim Head coach at USC after Kiffin.  (Replaced by Sarkisian the following season).

LSU might indeed be in for some troubled years. The man is a walking jinx.

Just think: if The Hat was fired or stayed depended on one second.

Well ... I do think Miles keeping his hand on an ineffective offense AND the Alabama inferiority complex go hand in hand in this situation. Miles still wanted to play offense like he could get away with 10 years ago.

Both The Hat and the officials proved their incompetence during that last second.

Miles was at the end of his rope. His offense has been stagnate since the Alabama game last year. Miles was a very good coach at one time but he has not changed his offense. Still no passing game which allows even weak teams to stack the box to stop the run. LSU has excellent receivers if they could just get them the ball.

Yeah, he was done.  According to those in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Les was going to be fired ASAP following the Wisconsin game.  Just that multiple factors were involved: high buyout; Louisiana's budget woes; timing; big-bucks donors.

There were meetings involving all of those involved except Les.  Once they got a commitment from the donors and waited for the budget news to settle, they fired Les.  The Aub loss made it easy.  Prolly would have been fired even if the last-second play had stood.  Several interviews of Baton Rouge (BR) and New Orleans writers on TV and radio yesterday confirmed how it happened, even though nobody knew the exact timing or participants involved in meetings.  Then Orgeron fired Cam; also directed?  It's a dumpster fire yet, because the money to pay Les isn't in hand.  Stay tuned (not to me; watch the BR news).

LSU Dad said he would contribute $400 before Les was fired.  I wonder if he has sent his money in yet.  :lol2:

Can anybody remember what it was like before the play clock was introduced?  The quarterback stalled to draw an offsides? A delay of game penalty? I just can't recall.

The 25-sec rule was adopted in 2008, I think.  Before that it was 40 seconds.  That dates back to about 2002.

Now the 40 second rule I could live with and still enjoyed the game. This 25 second rule is way to fast for me. JMHO. RTR!

Most of the high octane teams hike it much faster than 25 seconds anyway.
