The year we moved (1990) the governor (Edwards) threatened to close all of the regional universities. That did it for us. Finebaum seemed reluctant to discuss this yesterday on his show. I worked down there once for about 5 months with Bell South and did I ever get an education in the life style of our Cajun friends. I was shell shocked when I first arrived but things got better as time passed and I'm glad that I had the experience, I made some good friendships. Thanks for the link. The lady and Dottie became good friends and at Thanksgiving they had never ate Chicken and Dressing. Dottie made a pan for them she made a pan of Seafood dressing for us and man it was so great. Universities in Louisiana are taking a 20% budget cuts. But there's much more cutting to do. Looks like lots of layoffs of staff and some programs, especially at regional schools.
