You know I always loved Coach Shula he is family at Alabama. I did however knowing he was raised in an NFL family he would be a better NFL coach for his knowledge was there. I appreciated what he tried to do for Alabama which is still his college home. He is proving me right that he is an NFL offensive coach and will make a great HC in the NFL someday. I hope he does great in the Super Bowl. RTR!

Maybe Cam throws 10 interceptions, gets benched, and then Shula orchestrates a win with a backup QB by clever play calling.  And Roman Harper's boys shuts out Peyton to keep the score 0 to 0 until Cam gets pulled.

In other words, this is a lose-lose proposition for me, so I will most likely not be watching.  That is nothing new though, the last time I watched a super bowl was over a decade ago when Atlanta was in it and I hosted a small super bowl party.

Super Bowl?  Whatever.  :eyeroll: :lol2:

It's easy to be called a genius when you have a QB  who (no matter how much I don't like him) admittedly has a lot of talent.

When you make the college football playoffs two years in a row, with Blake Sims and Jake Coker at QB, that takes genius.

I'll always have a lot of admiration for Mike Shula. He took a job at Bama knowing he was no where near ready to handle at his age and experience and tried but failed miserably. I'll always think his dad, whom I lost a lot of respect for when Mike was released, pushed him into that job thinking he would be in the background and could take care of his little boy.

Mike did his best but being the coach at the University of Alabama takes someone that is well experienced in that field and he was no where near that. There was others that were more qualified than Mike that tried the job but they failed miserably as well. Mike was way too nice of a person to handle that job, a great family man and too big hearted to be a success at Bama.

But as it goes in life, good things happen to good people and it did for Mike, he got another chance at coaching but in a different capacity other than being a head coach, a position coach. He has proven that he can coach as he did well with Jacksonville before he got the job coaching Newton.

I hope they pay him well for having to deal with that slug.

Yeah, me too. When he left Bama he had three daughters and I'm not sure if he and wife added anymore to that collection. You might know a little about the cost of having three daughters.
