Title: Can we discuss the targeting of Cyrus Jones that was not called?
Post by: roll tide roll on October 04, 2015, 03:37:54 PM
Both knees were down on the kickoff return and the second defender comes in and hits him in the head.

If that is not the type targeting infraction that should have resulted in the player being ejected, then what is?

I thought it also should have been targeting.

One of 4 or 5 calls that went their way. Bama fans went nuts when that happened.

I thought it was cut and dried from the replay. Targeting for sure.

No doubt about it.  He came in high and made helmet to helmet contact.  I don't know how the refs missed it.

They're SEC refs.  What do you expect?

Yeah, I think it was right before the Civil War. :dunno:

I think you are both correct.  They are some of the best, and they do have issues.  Best being a relative term.

Ain't that the truth.  Big12 refs have been under fire all season.  This past Saturday, OKSt against Kansas State, refs awarded OK St a first down when they were still 4 yards short(!) and it should have been 4th down.  Instead, OKSt ended up getting a TD on the drive.
