Title: Questions About LSU Football
Post by: Marshal Dillon on April 25, 2015, 11:35:56 AM
This seems to be a problem at LSU or am I over reacting? I think Les Miles has lost the handle on the program.

The 2015 NFL Draft is six days away and former LSU cornerback Jalen Collins is a likely first-round pick. Whether his draft status changes based on a recent NFL.com report that Collins failed multiple drug tests in college remains to be seen.

It has been that way for a while I think.  Remember Honey Badger?

I expect LSU to slip toward mediocrity and aTm will rise to take their place.  Losing Chavis was big IMO.

Does the LSU program have discipline problems? Yes. Does LSU have a strong football program? Yes. Is the LSU football program slipping? Maybe.

I think Les Miles has been a QB away from having very good teams for several years.

Yep, that's part of what I was referring to in an oblique manner. Makes you wonder just how bad it is, drug-wise at LSU, & other ways, too.

I don't think Miles lets the OC & QB open it up. He wants the power running game & pass only when absolutely necessary.

LSU hasn't been the same since 21-0.

They don't have the swagger they use to have.  They don't scare anyone anymore.  Whether the problem is with the football aspect of coaching or a failure to discipline, or both, I don't know.  I think they'll continue to have solid teams for the foreseeable future, but I don't think they're going to be competing for championships again anytime soon.

Lot of good thoughts here. I think lsu started going down and they knew it when CNS was hired at Alabama. They saw what he with them and they knew he would do even better with Alabama. RTR!
