These kinds of things happen around the world, whether guns are available or not. I haven't heard of one happening recently, but a few years ago there was a string of knife attacks at Chinese elementary schools. In most cases a few kids died and many were injured, the same kind of numbers as gun attacks in the U.S. There was also a group machete attack at a train station in China earlier this year with lots of deaths.
