Once again, the decision-makers behind ESPN's College GameDay are deciding between a game involving Alabama and a game involving Auburn for an upcoming broadcast.

Producer Lee Fitting, in a Friday interview on The Paul Finebaum Show, said Alabama's home game against Mississippi State and Auburn's trip to Georgia were "the obvious leaders in the clubhouse" to host the wildly popular college football preview show Nov. 15.

Alabama last hosted the show in 2013 for its early November game against LSU. All told, the Crimson Tide has played in a game where the show was on site 28 times since 1994. It's won 17 of them.

I listened to the Paul Finebaum Show this week during a call in from a Big-Ten fan who was griping about SEC bias in choosing the site.

"Why not Michigan State vs Penn State" that day, or "Michigan vs Ohio State"?

The world is full of SEC-bias knuckleheads!  It's going to suck when a Big-Ten team gets into the playoff, and a more worthy SEC team is left home.  Finebaum suggested that such a scenario was exactly what the playoff folks want; thus next year we'll have 6 or 8 teams in the playoff.

We just need some team to step up and erase Michigan State.  Otherwise, Finebaum may be proven right.

True. Ohio St is buried at the bottom of the one lossers. Even if they win out and beat Mich St, I don't think they get in. If MSU wins out, somebody is going to be on the outside looking in.

Yeah, we're all freaked about an SEC team being left out, but once the dust settles there likely will be only 2 SEC teams standing (or 1).  All others will have 2 losses.
Aub vs Ole Miss
Aub vs UGA
Aub vs Alabama
Miss State vs Ole Miss
SEC CG

Plus, all of the 'lesser games' to reduce contenders.  Hard to imagine that Ole Miss or MSU will run the table, and we have a tough road ahead.

Any other year, I wouldn't be too worried about us getting in if we won out, along with
Ole Miss. But this committee scares me. Of course, if the barn beats them tonight, then we are in the driver's seat, and it's a moot point.

I can't imagine Ole Miss winning tonight.  The energy is gone from Oxford.  There was no excitement this week, no pep rally, and a lesser crowd at the Grove (people show up 24 hours early to save positions for tents).

Ole Miss has so many injuries that they'll have a tough time stopping the Aub running game.  At last count, 5 starters are questionable (4 on defense).  That's trouble for this team.

If so, I'll be a raving maniac in the thread tonight!

So, I should change my pick? It's not often I have an inside source. I'm not used to it.  :dunno:

You have an inside source, who is currently ranked DEAD LAST in the picks.
Only an idiot would listen to me at this point!
No, I picked the Aubs.  You're safe with Ole Miss. :lol2:
