Title: Texas v. Kansas State
Post by: Catch Prothro on October 25, 2014, 11:17:27 AM
Ok, so originally I picked KSU without even thinking.  It was Kansas State at home.  It was Texas.  What's to think about.  The line was under 10.

Then the experts got me thinking that Texas could keep this close.  Herbstreit picked Texas to win, analysts pointing out Texas' improvement and their better performance v. OK than KSU (stat-wise).  There were even questions about KSU's QB's health after he injured his shoulder v. OK.  So I decided to switch to Texas with about 15 minutes before kickoff.

First series, Texas goes backwards 7 yards and punts.  Kansas State drives down the field and now has first and goal at the one.

Experts.   >:(

OK, so KSU actually loses a yard in three downs and has to settle for a FG.

I guess I won't fire the experts just yet.  ???

I feel your pain, bro. Not this game, but I have had the exact same thing happen before. I think your gut is more of an expert than the talking heads on TV.

Some of these games, especially when you get out in the PAC12, my guy has no clue.

KSU has two drives deep in to Texas territory and settles for two FGs.

Texas gets two or three first downs and punts. KSU football, start of the second quarter.

KSU 6 Texas 0

I picked K State but it was such an obvious choice nobody would have been dumb enough to pick Texas.     Texas has less than a 100 yards of offense at the half.
