Title: Jimbo Fisher Did Not Like Tough Questions From Media About Winston
Post by: Marshal Dillon on October 21, 2014, 11:40:24 AM
He really doesn't get it when it comes to public perception and his reputation.

 :problem:

Quote
Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher cut short a media interview Monday after he was asked whether his reputation was taking a hit because of star quarterback Jameis Winston's off-field issues.

Fisher has faced heavy criticism for both standing up for Winston throughout the university's handling of the investigation about whether the quarterback sexually assaulted an FSU student in December 2012, and not coming out with a stronger suspension of Winston for a recent profane and sexually charged outburst.

Yes he does. He just doesn't want to deal with it.

Great point. He is setting himself up for a big fall if he keeps avoiding reality.

That whole program, and everyone in it, has their head in the sand. Jimbo just happens to be the Captain of the USS "Delusional".

I think the athletic office & most fans are delusional but I think all the constant negative publicity and federal investigation have woke up the President and other academics.

I can't help but wonder if this whole thing could eventually be another type of incident similar to the Penn State issue that cost Paterno his job...Of course, one college rape doesn't in my mind equate to several young boys being molested by a highly respected coach.  My thought process is more along the lines of the cover-up of the scandal.  Seems to me that the FSU administration (to include the coaches and possibly the TPD) have tried their dead-level best to cover up the JM scandal(s).  I can't help but think that eventually the truth will come out and several people could lose their jobs and freedom...

I'm more of the opinion that this will end up the same way as Johnny Football or SCam Newton.

By the way, word is JW will declare for the NFL Draft after this season.  http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/jason-la-canfora/24758759/jameis-winston-expected-to-enter-nfl-draft-but-wont-drop-out-of-fsu

I look at Jimbo Fisher, the FSU AD and president as cornerbacks and a safety.  They can only "cover" for so long... JW BETTER enter the draft next year...  ;)

Exactly, the same reason the other two scam artists declared early...  they might not have had any college availability left.

Surely NOBODY expects Jameis back next year.

When/if JW gets drafted into the NFL I really don't think it will matter what team gets him, he still won't be able to spell the team name in all likelihood...

When they asked him if he would go ahead and take the wonderlic test, he said "Yeah, I lick skrong!".

Fisher got his championship, but I don't see him having long-term success at FSU.  Winning over integrity, not holding a star player accountable for his actions, etc. are never a formula for building a quality program.  It's going to catch up to Jimbo soon.

Agree, I've never seen him as a long term coach at FSU.
