I just saw where 2 images, one very obscene, were posted by me, except I DID NOT POST THEM. Can you or a moderator check to see what is going on? Can you tell if the images in question came from my account or someone else? Is there anyway to explain this? I appreciate your help in this. They were posted on the Tennessee hate week thread.

I removed the obscene photos -- my bad, probably should have moved them. 
SC can probably still see where they came from.

That explains why I couldn't find anything bad.  :lol:

I can go look in the trash and see what I can figure out.

One was a photo of Dooley and the team, only thing 'obscene' was to have to view that much orange on this board.

The other photo was of the Rock in Knoxville, TN painted with a phallic symbol and some inappropriate language. 

I didn't see anything wrong with either of those pictures.  Am I missing something?  Can you describe what the problem was with that picture?

On my computer, that image was of the players leaving the locker room and touching a sign that said "Lose by 20" instead of a "Win" sign.

Did anyone else see it?

It was under the Tennessee Hate Week thread. It was a picture of a large boulder that had been spray painted & said, F**K Kiffin & USC s**ks c**k. The second image was on a different post & there was a team photo of Tennessee with Derek Dooley.

The obscene image you guys saw was a picture of the lose by 20 sign on my computer.  I am still trying to figure out what happened.

SC, I posted the photo in the moderator section and also PM'd you a link to it.

MD, did you post photos that were then changed, like the image SC described Lose by 20, or did you post nothing and someone else posted under your name?

I saw the "Lose by 20" sign earlier, but that's all.

There was post of the obscene photo by your avatar in which you use the laughing & fingerprinting emoticon. Could you have been hacked?

The image I saw and laughed at said "Lose by 20".  It still shows up that way for me.  Did you post the "Lose by 20" image that 2stater and I saw?

The $64 question, which MD needs to answer.

I posted the lose by 20 image but not the other two. Posting a team photo of Dooley would not make sense and not be funny. The image of the boulder was obscene and I would never post such a thing. This is a classy site with good folks. How could someone post with my avatar (account). The same thing was done to SUPERCOACH. Someone is messing with us big time, but I know nothing about computers.

Sounds like maybe your computer was infected with the Rocky Top virus.  :lol2:

Yes, I posted that image because it was funny. I am worried about how they were able to do the same thing do you with the obscene image as happened to me.

MD, I don't think this site is hacked.  It appears that the link address you posted was moved, after you posted it, to pull up the obscene photo.  That would be outside CRS.

Mystery solved MD.  You posted a link to an image that said "Lose by 20".  I quoted you with the laughing smiley.  Then the people who own the server where that image is stored replaced it with the obscene image.  So they changed it out from under you.  I still see the "Lose by 20" image on this computer because my computer cached the original image.  However, if I go to another computer I see the obscene image.

I have no idea what the 2nd image was originally, but my guess is they changed it to the team picture.  So no one was hacked, at least not on this occasion.

I don't understand, What do you mean by the posted address was moved after I posted it. And what does it mean that it would be outside of CRS. Are you saying someone in CRS switched addresses? I'm confused.

Why in the world would they do that? Are they big Tide fans who hate UT? They did the same thing under your account which is why I was so confused, I knew there was NO WAY you would think such an image was funny, especially on a public forum. Give me their physical address so I can visit them and punch them in the nose.

You posted a link to a picture that is on another site.  When you posted the link, that other site had the lose by 20 picture.  Then they came along later and decided they like the obscene picture better, so they changed it on their site.  Since you linked to that site, it changed your post too.

Let me see if I can think of a better way to explain this.  OK, think of the link to the picture as a phone number.  You posted a "phone number" of say 555-1234, and when you call that number it went to "Bob", who is a fine citizen.  Then "Bob" changed his phone number, and his phone number was reassigned to "Bill", who is a vulgar thug that cusses you out when you call him.  You are still calling the same phone number, but it is a different guy answering the phone now.

By the way, that other site is totally unaware of what they did to us here.  They just decided they wanted to show the obscene picture instead of the lose by 20 picture.

MD - the way we post images is by linking to other servers. Let's say the image was named homepage.jpg. If the person controlling that site posts a different photo with the name homepage.jpg, that is what will appear in your post. Our posts are merely windows to those pictures as they are stored and named on remoter server computers.

I still want to punch them in the nose.

SUPERCOACH, bear with me. I have some follow up questions if you don't mind.

Is the above something that happens due to a computer or does a person have to do that and how can they not be aware? Also, how come our site filter did not catch the obscene image? Does the filter only work on words, even though obscene words were part of the image? Just wondering in case I decide to post naked pictures of myself.

It was done by a person.  They are aware that they changed the picture on their server, just not aware that we had linked to it and it changed on our site too.  The internet truly is a tangled web.

You are right about the filter.  Filters don't work on images, only words.
