Title: Tickets For Alabama's Visit to Ole Miss Are Most Expensive Of Season,
Post by: bama57 on October 02, 2014, 07:24:51 PM
At a capacity of just over 60,000 Vaught Hemmingway Stadium on the campus of Ole Miss is the 3rd smallest football stadium in the SEC. That puts it ahead of only the Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. The stadium, which opened in 1915, was expanded in 2002 to add an additional 10,000 seats. Despite that expansion, the biggest crowd to ever see a game there was 62,657. As a point of comparison, there are two SEC venues with a capacity of over 100,000—Bryant-Denny in Tuscaloosa and Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. The record-breaking attendance game came in 2009 when the 20th-ranked Rebels welcomed in Alabama. Ole Miss lost that game 22-3. Over the years, Ole Miss has had a tough time with Alabama, going 9-47-2, with their last win coming in 2003 in Oxford. On Saturday, they’ll try to get their 10th win against ‘Bama and tickets are as expensive any other home game in the history of the Ole Miss football schedule.
