The better defense on the field, the best defense in the league, might not belong to the guys in the red helmets. The Ole Miss defense has been that good. The Landsharks, as they like to call themselves, are no Saturday Night Live skit. They’re fast, furious and legit.

Look at the numbers.

The 4-0 Rebels lead the SEC in scoring defense, giving up just 8.5 points a game, and they’re No. 3 in the nation. They lead the SEC in total defense, allowing only 248 yards a game, and they’re No. 4 in the country there...

What was it last year, 25-0?  Rah.

They have played 4 cupcakes.  Florida could have whipped all 4 of them.  They are in for a rude awakening (again).

How many years in a row have we heard how great Ole Miss is for the first 4-5 weeks of the season, only to see Alabama destroy them?

Not to mention that two weeks ago Florida was supposed to have the best defense in the SEC, and we saw how that worked out for them.

I guess we should just go ahead and mark this one down as a loss for the good guys and not even play the game...   At least that way we would be fresh for the next game...  :dunno:

Ole Miss has got a lot of mileage off the win over Vandy. I think this may be the best Ole Miss team without a Manning at QB we have seen since in a long time. But... I think they are over rated.

The last 2 years, they've played us tough the first half of both games. I see that happening again, but they aren't deep enough to stay with us. The 4th quarter is ours.

This is what I expect too, 2.
The Rebels are fired up like never before for this game.  They believe they can win.  They have the defense to keep them in the game, and they're hoping that hot-and-cold Bo Wallace plays the game of his life.  If he does, it'll be a good game.  But unless we give them 2-3 turnovers, we should win by 10-14 points.

Enjoy it.  Regardless of who Ole Miss has played, they're ranked #11.  A win over them makes us look very good nationally.  Very good.

Yeah, let's hope he doesn't go all Stephen Garcia on us.  :lol2:

That's exactly what those predicting an upset are saying.  If he plays his best, nobody can cover the OM receivers.  But if he plays like he did against MSU last year, SC's prediction may be close (98-0).

That is the very reason I posted in another thread that Coker may come in to rest BS in the 2nd quarter if we are up 21 to 0

You've been dead on with a lot of predictions lately, I hope you are with this, as well.

Ole miss is the new Arkansas.  They think they can beat Alabama every year, play a bunch of cupcakes for a few weeks at the beginning of the season, then have all their hopes and dreams crushed when the reality of playing Alabama sets in on game day.  Does Hugh Freeze ride motorcycles?

Both Boise State AND Memphis gave them all they wanted for 3 quarters.  Their other 2 games were Vanderbilt and LA-Lafayette.  And I am supposed to be impressed that they made it to 4-0 for the first time in my lifetime?  :eyeroll:  Whatever.

Now, they may beat Alabama this year, or some year, but until they actually do, or at least play a competitive game all the way through 4 quarters, I won't lose any sleep worrying about Ole Miss.
