Title: week 5 pick the upset
Post by: bama57 on September 22, 2014, 08:22:44 AM
This weeks games are a lot more difficult for me. I think Duke might give Miami a hard time!

Memphis over Ole Miss.

But I hope not.

But I hope not.

That would muddy the waters a bit.

I'll go with NC State surprising FSU.

The line is 24, but, that game could be real interesting. How did we overlook that game on the pickem? I just read back over the discussion for the week 5 pickem and none of us even considered it, and that game could be a humdinger!

But seriously, I say Washington over Stanford.

Cheech 10-0 in the pick em  :)

I can't imagine that's possible.  After all, I'm using a random strategy to make my picks.  The fact that I'm able to attain (  ) a ratio of ~67% with that method is amazing itself.

But thanks.  I'd enjoy the 1:10,000,000 chance that it could happen!   :dunno:

Cincy over was the OSU. This to me would be an upset because CTT is going against urban. RTR!

Thats why it would be an upset. If I was going for the miracle call, i would have said I will go 10-0 in the pick em.

Actually it is only 1:1024 if you ignore weeks when there is a push for one of the games.  So we are just about due for somebody to go 10-0.

I took that math course too.
We also learned that the odds of a coin flip are 50:50.  Then why are my picks << 40%?

At least the picks keep me interested in games that I'd never watch otherwise.  They can't take that away!!

A scientist, an engineer, and a statistician are shooting arrows. The scientist makes some calculations about distance and wind speed and is over the target by a foot. The engineer makes some adjustments based on the first shot and shoots under the target by a foot. The statistician yells "Bullseye"!

It would take 4 fumbles from BYE for UF to win.
That, plus keep Driskel from passing to BYE!

Agreed cb on the Washington pick. Chris Peterson is gonna take someone down this year maybe two. I think he gets Stanford here and Oregon later on.

Arizona St over UCLA, though I don't really consider that an upset after how UCLA has looked

Arkansas over Texas A&M

I didn't realize Taylor Kelly won't play for AZSt tonight...that makes that upset a lot less likely.

Unlikely though it may be, the most epic upset would be Tennersee over UGA at Athens. Here's why that would be great. 1. The meltdown thread material from GA would be abundant and hilarious. 2. Tennersee would then start expecting to beat us, which will make it so much more satisfying when we kill them at their place.

So you're going Arky over Aggies?  I don't expect that, but it should be interesting.  I'd stick with AZ St. over UCLA.  It is an upset pick, with a backup QB.

I just saw on the ESPN streamer that Hundley is a game time decision. Something about his arm.

I'm going out on a fat limb to predict Cincy winning big.

And I'll go ahead and award a phallicicle to Tuberville for post-game (inappropriate) comments:
