**The Crimson Tide hasn't intercepted a pass since the first quarter of its Sugar Bowl loss to Oklahoma, a 15-quarter drought. Alabama's defensive backs have accounted for just three passes defended this season.

"It is pretty frustrating," said cornerback Cyrus Jones, who saved a touchdown in the season opener when he successfully defended a pass during the fourth quarter. "You can't force it. You've just got to stay solid in your technique and be in your position to make a play when your time comes."

For some context, Alabama not only forced four turnovers at this point last season, but also scored three touchdowns on the same play as those turnovers.

"I think that getting more turnovers and emphasizing that is going to be important," Saban said, bringing it up unprompted during his opening statement after Saturday's game. "We've been doing a good job of taking care of the ball, but we need to be able to get more turnovers on defense." ...

**After manning his usual spot at safety against Florida Atlantic, Collins moved to Money -- Alabama's extra defensive back for its dime defense -- against the Golden Eagles. Jabriel Washington, who played at Money last week, swapped into Collins' old spot.

Landon Collins was noticeably around the ball from start to finish and led the way with 12 tackles. He was particularly active whenever Southern Miss tried to pick up first downs through shorter passes, much like West Virginia in the opener. He was also closer to the ball whenever the Golden Eagles attempted to run.

Good news and bad news.  You'd hope by now we'd have the positions set for DBs.
