After saying Sims and Coker would continue to split repetitions with the first-team offense, Saban offered some unprompted praise Tuesday to third-year sophomore Alec Morris, who has perhaps emerged as the Crimson Tide's No. 3 option at the position.

"Alec Morris has actually had a really good fall camp. We feel like he's made a lot of progress as well," Saban said. "We're kind of encouraged by what all three of those guys have done, but I would like to see somebody take the bull by the horns from a leadership standpoint, a consistency standpoint and win the job here sometime.

"But we're not going to make a decision until somebody does that." ...

Just pick Coker, then move on.

Having two qb's that Coach Saban has confidence in is a good problem to have... right?

Is he now saying that we have 3 QBs?   ???

I've been saying that Morris looks good when given an opportunity.

I like Morris as well. I think he does a good job of making something positive out of a bad situation, he scrambles pretty good. He has good arm strength but his timing with the receivers needs some work and getting more reps can't do anything but help that.

Not so fast, my friend.

I believe this decision will be made right at kickoff and not by CNS. I think CNS turns and says "Mrs. Terrie who do you think?" JMHIO. RTR!

The decision has already been made. The decision will be announced to the QBs when they are ready to install the offense for next week's game. It will be made known to the rest of us through a leak around Wednesday. It will be Sims taking the first snap.

Questions?

It being so early in the season, my Jedi mind powers are a little rusty. I'd guess he'll get the entire first half and Coker will get the second half. CNS knows that you need an extended time to get comfortable, work out the jitters, and show your true stuff. Unless either is exceptionally good while the other is exceptionally bad, CNS will reverse it for the next game until he feels comfortable settling the matter. The first play from scrimmage will be ........
