It is that time of year SC removes his head from the sand and starts hanging out with us more. He will be along soon to set up the pick'em, do all the work and let us have all the fun. If you have not given SC an e-cred lately now would be a good time. Unlike most of us he earns his.

Looks like everyone agrees on games except I picked Penn State v. UCF and others picked UCLA v. Virginia. 

I almost went with the UCLA game, but I remember Virginia being pretty bad last year, and UCF won their BCS bowl v. Baylor.  UCF's QB, Broyles, is in the NFL now, so who knows.

The line for the UCLA/Virginia game is 22 points, and the line for the UCF/Penn State game is 1 point.  I think that shows what game we should pick, if anyone wants to reconsider.

Also at issue is whether we are picking the Bama games this year.  Pretty big line on the Bama/WV game, 27 points.   :o  That makes it a hard pick.

I vote no for Bama games, as always.  It is an unfair disadvantage to those of us who can't bring themselves to pick against Bama no matter what.  But, as always, I will go along with what the majority of people want to do.

I agree with SC on the Bama game. anyone else interested in the colorado/Colorado State game?

Well I enjoy Bama games and it doesn't bother me either way. I picked against last year and Bama won every game till I boo-booed against auburn and okla. RTR!

I thought we might want to pick up a Friday night game.  And that one appears to be the most closely matched, with a 3 point line.  8 pm CST on Fox Sports 1

Another interesting game to pick would be Troy v. UAB, with a 1 point line.  No TV on Sat.

I can go either way.  27 points is a big line to pick against.

Where would one go to participate in this pickem this year?  Might have to give it a try...

We'll probably be picking UCLA a lot this year.  They play Texas, #19 Arizona State, Utah, #3 Oregon, Arizona, #25 Washington, #15 USC, and # 11 Stanford.  I'm not convinced they'll make it through that, but I'm pretty confident that they'll decimate Virginia.

But then again, the UCLA Virginia game is a lot easier pick than Colorado v. Colorado State. Colorado won by double digits last year, but then promptly tanked.  Colorado State started slow but finished the season strong, with a bowl victory over Washington State.  Will Colorado start strong again this year against its rival?  Does Colorado State have momentum from last year, and another year in McElwain's system... is that enough for this rivalry game?  The bookies aren't sure, and I'm not either.

I think it is more difficult to pick a large spread rather than a small one.

I flipped on the Georgia/Clemson this morning. If my memory is correct, Georgia was up by 2 touchdowns going into the 4th quarter last year at Clemson and messed around and let Clemson steal it and I think Georgia coaching staff will use that , Plus Georgia has 9 returning starters on defense and the kicker and punter .  The QB is a 5th year senior . but who knows?????

Tell me about it.  This is the third week that I barely break even... If it weren't for being close to guessing the total yards Bama would put up I wouldn't have anything to hope for.  And even that don't win me no bragging rights...  :'(

Is there a possibility that we could set the schedule of games as a poll and have everyone pick their 10 favorite?  Whatever 10 games have the most votes are the games for that week.

It would be less work for CP, and SC if he could import the data directly from the poll results to the pickem sheet.

I am happy with the current process.  Just a thought.

I am stuck at 6-4 for 2 weeks in a row. I guess that is better than 4-6. No matter you guys supporting the totem pole after this week I will be down there to help support the pole. lol, RTR!

The overall results drop your 2 worst weeks.  That way if someone forgets and misses a week, or they are sick, or whatever the case may be, they still have a shot at the Overall.  If you end up voting every week then you just get 2 mulligans basically.  In your case, you get to drop your 6-4 week and your 5-4 week, while your two 7-3 weeks count.  Of course this changes every week.  If you go 4-6 this week, then your 6-4 week will count and your 4-6 week becomes one of the mulligans.

As for the poll, I really like that idea and it has been on my to do list for a couple of years.  However it will take some work on my part to get it up and running so that it is automated, and so far I just haven't had the time.  That is the last piece though before the whole things runs itself on autopilot, so hopefully I can get to that one day.

Having said that, it would not be a big deal at all to create a manual poll and let everyone vote that way to determine the 10 games.  Then I would just continue to enter them manually like I have always done.  So maybe next week we give that a try.
