Title: Cleveland Browns & Johnny Manziel
Post by: Marshal Dillon on July 28, 2014, 11:41:31 AM
This is the big question for right now. Plus, can he play in the NFL? Good article.

Quote
With the No. 22 selection in the 2014 NFL Draft, Cleveland drafted Johnny Manziel.

Could someone please explain why?

The Browns didn't draft Manziel to be the starter, apparently. They insist that it's Brian Hoyer's job to lose. And when the starting quarterback is a guy coming off ACL surgery and the guy is named Brian Hoyer, and the team's stance is that it's his job to lose, well, it begs the question: Why did the Browns draft Johnny Manziel?

His off-field crap is more entertaining than Nascar.

His act has already worn thin with the Browns. I don't know if he can reel himself in or not. He seems oblivious to what it takes to be an NFL QB.

 :dunno:

Go through fall camp. Play some exhib games and maybe get him in some regular season games.  See what happens.  Whatever the Browns decide will be decided (mostly) on the field.

But honestly, I'd love to see the little squirmer get pummeled by a few NFL defensive linemen or LB's.

He has more talent than Tebow, and I expect that he'll prove himself on the field.

BUT, his off-field crap may trump any success he has (and lead to his trade).  He'll end up in Miami!   :lol2:

The only reason he might play for the Browns is because they wasted a 1st round pick on him and a ton of money. The Browns O-line is horrible. It could get ugly, fast. Their first 3 games are:

Pittsburgh
New Orleans
Baltimore

For obvious reasons, I am REALLY looking forward to that one.  :lol2:

Believe it or not, I thought of you when I typed that. It was like red meat for a hungry lion.

Everybody is tired of his off the field antics, but I'll bet you a dollar to donuts, he's the starting QB before half the season is over. Hoyer is beat up and a mediocre QB at best. That "O" line of theirs may end up getting both of them killed.

I'll take a donut.
Agree with you; he'll prove himself and become their starter.  He may be the most hated/loved QB in the NFL, half the country hoping for someone to crush him and half loving his tattoos and taunting.   :lol2:

Yep, most polarizing newcomer to the NFL since Nkdomjhfjvhj Suh.

Difference is, if JFF kicks someone in the head, they'll rip off his leg.

He might better start taking care of those guys with all the money he's throwing around on the good times. ;)

I'm not sure he's smart enough to do that.
