Tyndall, 43, spent the last two seasons at Southern Miss, where he compiled a 56-17 record (25-7 in Conference USA play), reached the NIT quarterfinals twice and continued growing his reputation as one of the sport's up-and-coming coaches. Prior to the stint at Southern Miss, Tyndall was the head coach at Morehead State, his alma mater, for six seasons. It all depends on whether he can adapt to the SEC & playing teams like UK, Florida, Georgia, Vandy, & others on a regular basis. Plus, he will have to play a good non-conference schedule to have any hope of making the NCAA Tourney.

For every Bruce Pearl success story there is a Tony Barbee failure. Some coaches can adapt to the SEC and some can not. Only time will tell.

For every Bruce Pearl success story there is a Tony Barbee failure. Some coaches can adapt to the SEC and some can not. Only time will tell. If I'm not mistaken Jarnell Stokes their great power forward is leaving early, but their good point guard, Richardson, is staying. UT just picked up a commitment from a 7 footer. The 7 footer committed one day and announced he was following Martin to Cal the next. Tyndall is not walking into a terrible situation but it is not a good one either. I had not heard about the 7 footer leaving. Also, a commit named Austin decommited but I can't find out any other info on him. :dunno: |
