They are playing at Lagoon Park in Montgomery.

I played a ton of softball in that very park, in my younger days. It used to be a great softball complex. If they are playing there, I'm guessing it still is.

They have a nice golf course there as well. Bell South used to have their annual employee golf tournament there, lots of fun.

Auburn gets a 2 run homer to take a 2-0 lead after one inning. Jury is pitching for Bama and the whole inning was a struggle for her. I'm guessing she threw better than forty pitches.

That is the golf course I cut my teeth on. It used to be in the top 25 in the nation, among public golf courses.

Jury has a better 2nd inning with just 10 pitches but Bama still trails 2-0.

Auburn gets a 3 run homer to extend their lead to 5-0 after 3 innings. If Bama is to win tjhis game tonight, Bama's bats need to come alive and Murph needs to replace Jury.

Spencer gets a solo shot for Bama to narrow the score to 5-1 but Jury immediately gave up a double to the leadoff batter for Auburn. The Tigers get that runner in on a sac fly and after 4 innings 6-1 the bad guys.

:( That is a bad loss for the ladies.

I enjoyed the conversation about Lagoon Park. I lived and worked in Montgomery from 1983-1987. That is also where I met and married my wife.

Lagoon is a very nice park. The golf course is one of my favorites. I still play it often when we visit my Mother-In-Law. It is well maintained and very challenging. You need to be accurate off the tee to post a good score. It is very tight fairways. RTJ Trail in Prattville has taken a lot of the traffic off the course. It used to be hard to get a weekend tee time.

Lagoon has one of the best tennis complex in the south. It has hosted SEC and NCAA championships several times. In addition to just having a bunch of courts it has a stadium court and tennis pro shop. I played in men's tennis league's there and had a lot of fun.

It has a picnic park with playground for kids. It is across the lake from the 13th green. We had our company picnics there every year.

Lagoon was one of the first softball complex to use the spoke design with fields forming a circle around the center building with restrooms, concessions, etc. Every town has a complex like that now.

Montgomery certainly has their own set of problems but unlike B'ham and a lot of other towns they take care of their public facilities and parks. Lagoon park is always very clean with grass cut and flower beds munched.

I'm glad to hear the everything there is well maintained. I spent a lot of time there. Also. I worked for nearly 10 years at a company in the industrial park right next to Lagoon Park.
