Oregon State just beat Purdue. That's a good sign. It also helps our RPI if Oregon State has a good year.

We tip in about 25 minutes.

Roll Tide.

Need some serious boxing out and to continue shooting 45% or hopefully better. May need all 15 guys to keep full court pressure on "Nova but "D" is where the Tide separates themselves. RTR

Mark Gottfried has NC State playing well. They are #6 and from what I have seen they deserve it. Good for him. He played on one of my favorite Bama teams with Conner, Farmer, McKey and Ansley.

If we can hold our own on the boards I like our chances. We also need points in the paint. You can not count on three pointers to fall every game.

I think we are all agreed that the Bama program had stagnated under CMG and that we are now making significant strides in the right direction.

Although I guess Purdue is considered a traditional power, "Nova was lucky to get out with a "W" last night.

I did not say I wanted him for our coach but I still like him. I don't want Mike Shula back either but I like him too.

Good move by Randolph to block Villanova from sideline loose ball.

Turnover/foul by "Nova" but Bama fell for it's own ploy getting boxed at midcourt. Nice "hold" by Bama dfensively. T=REL shooting with confidence.

L-RAND playing his "A" off. RTR. "Nova misses it's 2nd FT.

BAMA 29- 26

BAMA 29- 26 at the half.

L-RAND with only 3 pts. but 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists. He missed an easy one on a fast break.

Bama outshooting AND outrebounding "Nova. "Nova able to keep it close by shooting 90% at the line for most of the half (missed a couple at the end).

I think we are in good shape at half. We need to hit free throws in the 2nd half. We nned Lacey back too. Refs suck.

L-RAND came to play.

Foul on Cooper negates Randolph steal. >:(

Gueye blocks a shot and "'bounds" the loose ball too. How long has it been since a Tide player has done that? LOL

R-COOP--3. Now he scores +1.

BTW, Lacey waited about 10 minutes for Gueye to finall set a pick for him. He'll learn. LOL

BAMA 39- 33. Gueye on the line.

T-REL gets up gingerly but makes bot FTs so I guess he is just tired. BAMA 75-51

"Nova picked preseason bottom 1/3 of Big East, but BAMA destroyed a good Big East Team in a championship round. If there was any doubt, that is huge progress from last year's team (and the year before).

BAMA 77 - Villanova 55 (FINAL)

I'm sure Engstrom is trying his hardest. But there is a reason he only played 5 minutes. He did make up for his PF with 3-4 foul shooting of his own and I think he got one rebound. As I said yesterday, he probably has some value in practice. But he plays "D" like a PUTT-PUTT windmill, clogs the lane offensively, and waits directly underneath the basket for rebounds (OSU game). In his defense, Gueye doesn't seem much better.

Releford, Lacey, and Cooper are dangerous in that they can go both outside-inside. This keeps the "D" on their heels. But anyone that thinks we have miraculously found 3 pure shooters has rocks in their head. We do have a great advantage, as witnessed last night, in that 1 of the 3 might pick up the slack on any given night. This is good. Releford (AND Cooper) picked up where Lacey foul trouble left off.

Bama has a Dec 1 game at Cincy(#24), and a couple of other traditionally better than average teams (OAK and DAY, and @ VCU, and maybe @ TTU) left before conference play begins. 13-0 would be great and is not out of the question ridiculous. RTR
