Roll Tide young man!  I expect he will leave with a national championship ring.

So...if we don't sign anybody else does this mean we have a 5-star recruiting class?

CAG has (so far) put all the 2012 recruiting eggs in one basket.  Thankfully that basket has been brought home safely.  So kudos to CAG and RTR!!!

Awesome news.  Anticipated, but awesome.   #+

Pollard immediately fills a hole for Alabama in a position of dire need. With JaMychal Green graduated and the departure of Tony Mitchell and Charles Hankerson, Jr., the Tide was left with just Moussa Gueye, Carl Engstrom and Nick Jacobs in the front court. Pollard will have a chance to start from day one for Alabama and immediately takes the Tide from middle-of-the-pack in the SEC to conference contenders.

This is the nucleus to build on-- but by itself means very little.

Getting him is so huge since we had no small forward with Hankerson & Mitchell gone. We still have 2 schollys, so maybe we can pick up a 6'8"-6'10" banger who can pound the ball inside and another small forward at 6'5"-6'7" or a shooting guard.

I think our front court will be improved with Moussa Gueye, Carl Engstrom and Nick Jacobs.  All of them really were developing well by the end of last season.  Devonta Pollard still is a great pick-up and definitely will be on the court next year.

I definitely agree. I can see Gueye and Engstrom being able to clog the middle and block shots. I  think Jacobs can be a major player under the basket, on defense and offense.

We need to pick up a really good big guy for the 2013-14 season, which is what I'm seeing as our best chance. Regardless the program just improved with this recruit. RTR

I'm anxious to see how much Gueye improves in the off season, he never really got into good playing shape at all last year due to his knee injury. He seemed to have some decent skills under the basket but he would tire so quickly. I agree with you about getting another big man but I haven't heard that much talk about anyone with the big skills that they might have a chance to get. If Engstrom improves as much in the off season this year as he did last year, he should be able to be of more value to the team. RTR!!
