Title: Coach Nussmierer...young, witty, personable, and very knowledgeable
Post by: Jamos on May 29, 2012, 10:09:14 PM
I had the pleasure of attending a meeting tonight where Coach Nussmierer was the guest speaker and I came away feeling very good about him as the new OC. He first told us about the city of Tuscaloosa and how he and his family have just been overwhelmed with the welcome that they have received since moving here. They are very impressed with the University of Alabama and city of Tuscaloosa. He has a little of CNS in him in that there are some things that he will not address and Duron Carter was one of them, I did not ask that question this time.

All of the coaches just finished their May recruiting, which is very demanding, and he seemed very pleased with the results of that. The football players reported in today to begin their 4th quarter conditioning and he was very excited about that.

He went into a very detailed description of spring training and what it means to each player as well as the team as a whole. He was very satisfied with the progess of so many players by the end of spring training. It seems that players were asked to do a lot in extending their abilities to play multiple positions which really helps the team and also gets the players more playing time. He also explained why they practice one day and are off the next day in spring practice. The off day between the practice days are used to tutor the players after viewing the practice film, this gives the players a better chance in correcting their mistakes.

QB Alec Morris is on campus and you could sense that he will be a very busy young man this summer. Coach Nussmierer explained to us what it's like to take a QB just out of high school and to get him prepared in case he will be needed in the upcoming season. He was quick to point out to not throw to much at them at one time but I'm sure he's had the playbook since he committed as well as some hands on tutoring.

I was impressed with how he presented himself to us tonight, there is nothing boastful about him and I think he and CNS will make a great pair. Roll Tide!!

#+, thanks Jamos. I hear you, it sounds like we won't miss a step with Coach McElwain and Coach Nuss. I am so ready from your report to see how much better that A.J. is this year. Then our incoming QB's will be his products. We may some Heisman material before it is over. RTR!

Thanks for the report.  I'm hoping that Nuss is the upgrade that we have been looking for on offense.

Thanks Jamos. Very encouraging.

It must be nice to live in Tuscaloosa and get to attend all the games and activities. We really appreciate these updates. Most of us can only make it to a game every now and then must less these mid-week functions.

Thanks for the report.  For absolutely no factual reason, I had a good feeling about Coach Nuss from day one.  He moved a long way to get here so he must have wanted to be here.  To me, that says a lot.
