Title: Alabama Baseball Earns 6-5 Win Thanks to Late-Inning Heroics Post by: pmull on March 26, 2011, 05:58:46 PM TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A walk-off single from late-inning replacement Brett Booth helped propel the Alabama baseball team (17-7, 4-1 SEC) to a 6-5 win over the Kentucky Wildcats (14-10, 2-3 SEC), Saturday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
A five-run third for the Tide and a four-run seventh for Kentucky highlighted the scoring on the day, but the last at-bat single helped clinch the game and the Southeastern Conference series win for the Tide. Booth, who came in as a defensive replacement at third base in the top of the eighth, got his first SEC hit of the season when it counted.
