Title: Alabama QB commit Cooper Bateman shines at Elite 11 camp
Post by: pmull on May 21, 2012, 12:00:01 PM
Bateman was competing alongside a number of elite quarterback prospects looking to secure themselves a spot in the Elite 11 national finals later this summer, including USC commit Max Browne. But one detail set Bateman apart from his fellow competitors: he had already qualified for the finals.

After earning his qualifying spot back in March at the Dallas regional, Bateman decided he wanted to continue testing his skills against some of the nation's best quarterbacks, something that former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer, who coached at this weekend's Oakland regional, said he finds admirable and impressive.

"I think he made a perfect choice," Dilfer said of Bateman's commitment to Alabama. "For Cooper, no stage is too big. No environment is too big."
