Title: Tide ends disappointing season with a 6-4 victory over Georgia
Post by: pmull on May 19, 2012, 05:10:01 PM
We ended the season on a high note winning 2 out of 3 against UGA. This was a horrible season. We were 9-21 overall and 0-15 on the road in SEC play. We finished last in the SEC. IMO CMG is on a short leash going into next season. This season was not acceptable.

Alabama's disappointing 2012 baseball did not end in disappointing fashion.

After the tying run scored on a wild pitch, Jon Kelton delivered a two-run, two-out single in the bottom of the eighth to lift the Crimson Tide to a 6-4 victory over Georgia on Saturday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

The game ended with the Bulldogs' Conor Welton lining out to left field with the bases loaded.

For the first time this season, the Crimson Tide completed a Southeastern Conference home series without a walk-off victory. Alabama won two of the three games.

In its worst season since 1994, Alabama finished with a 21-34 record (9-21 in the SEC). It failed to tie the school record for overall losses and SEC losses in a single season. The records were set in 1994 when the Tide went 21-35 (4-22).
