Title: Alabama Softball responds with big 3rd inning to defeat South Alabama
Post by: pmull on May 19, 2012, 04:59:23 PM
Alabama doesn't face deficits all too often when it hosts NCAA Regionals, something it's done every year since 2005.

When it does, like it did Saturday after South Alabama jumped to a 1-0 lead in the second inning, the Crimson Tide doesn't let it last very long. Every time it's fallen behind since its last NCAA Regional loss, a 4-2 stunner to Tennessee Tech in 2007, Alabama has rallied to either tie the score or take the lead for good in its very next at-bats.

On Saturday, Alabama chose the latter, as it responded with a three-run third inning and never looked back in its 5-2 victory over the Jaguars.

I really wish ESPN was covering us. I would be way more interested in that instead of UK vs Valparaso!!!

Keep it going ladies!! Roll Tide!!

There's a lot of big news in the Regionals so far, Arkansas has beaten #1 seed California and put them in the losers bracket. Florida has dismissed the two Fagan sisters and their shortstop from the team also as they are playing in the losers bracket as well. Tomorrow looks to be a very interesting day as the Regionals come to an end.

South Alabama advanced to the Regional Final by beating GT 10-1. Alabama needs one win today to advance to the Super Regional. South Alabama must beat Bama twice to advance. The first game is at 1:00.

If Alabama wins as expected they will host the Super Regional against either Michigan or Louisville. Michigan only needs one win over No. 15 seed Louisville to advance.
