Finally, the person who has been associated with more national football championships than anyone in Crimson Tide history, nine, will stand beside the former teammates, colleagues and numerous students whom he helped and have already received the highest accolade that their state can offer.

"It's an unbelievable honor for me," Moore said earlier this week at the Crimson Caravan event in Birmingham. "I appreciate the support from people and I look forward to the weekend, but I'm amazed and honored."

Perhaps the only question that should be asked is what took so long as Moore is no stranger to awards. For example, he has so many title rings that he has to keep the national championship collection which includes one as a player, six as a coach and two as an athletic director, in a separate drawer from those representing conference titles.

9 and counting that is...

I had a chance to spend an hour or so with CMM at a Christmas party. No one (JMHO) tells Coach Bryant stories better than him. I had a million questions I would have liked to have asked. But he turned the table and made me feel like I was the most important guy in the conversation. What a guy to be representing our University.

BTW, I had something to talk with CMM about, around Christmas last season. Something CRS related that I had PMed Jamos and HighSchoolCoach about. I decided to wait until after the bowl (he was busy) and wasn't sure if he would remember me or even take the call. Not only did he take the call, but I got the feeling we'd still be on the phone if I hadn't made excuses and thanked him. He said call any time-- but I figure he already has mustard. LOL
