Title: Cris Carter admits to bounties Post by: Jamos on May 09, 2012, 06:24:15 AM It's looking more and more like this tactic, bounty, was probably used throughout pro football and it's just a matter of time that more players/former players will admit to it. Where does the NFL go from there with their punishment?

It's been rumored for a long time the NFL teams have had bounties, so I'm not really surprised at this and I don't think much was made of it until recently, when the concussion issue surfaced. I don't think we'll be hearing much more about bounties going forward.

I hope you are right but I'm guessing that everytime there is a "cheap shot" used by someone in a game, there will be a big discussion if there was a bounty involved. I'm not so sure the media will just let this go away. :dunno: Title: Re: Cris Carter admits to bounties Post by: 2Stater on May 09, 2012, 06:42:44 AM Everyone is saying that the reason the Saints players & coaches were suspended was because of the lying about it, not actually for having and participating in the bounties themselves. I just doubt, however, that there will be any more legitimate paid bounties. This would allow them to use the ratioale that the Saints penalty was mostly for lying and obstruction, while at the same time appear to be taking the problem seriously.
