Title: Graduation Time
Post by: pmull on May 02, 2012, 08:39:30 AM
May is graduation time. Anyone have kids or someone special to you graduating this year?

It is a very special time at my house. Both of my daughters graduate this year. My oldest daughter graduates from the University of Montevallo this Saturday. She is a Graphic Design major. She also has a good job lined up that she starts on May 14. My youngest daughter graduates from Austin High School in Decatur on May 25. She will go to North Alabama to pursue an Elementary Education degree in the fall.

If you can't tell I am very proud of both of my girls.

My "baby" cousin (she is 23) who is actually more like my kid sister since I have no siblings, is finishing her masters in social work from UA this month. I have watched her grow from a cute little 2 year old dancing in the living room to oldies to a wonderful young woman with a real heart for helping other people.

Congatulations to the recent graduates, and congratulations to you and your wife for achieving this milestone of success as parents.  It's been said that raising kids is the most difficult job in the world because you don't always know whether you are doing the right thing when you're having to make those tough decisions about them and for them.

When you see them develop into caring and responsible adults, then you know that you must have done something right.

Thanks Chech, yes we do have a wonderful family, we have been so blessed with our children and grandchildren and are very proud of them and their accomplishments.  :D

By the way, my grandaughter in Germantown recieved a full ride scholarship to Miss State. This was tough to swallow because her heart was set on going to Bama but Bama didn't come near matching that kind of money for her. Her other grandfather is a vet here in Tuscaloosa and I'm not sure if she is shooting for vet school or some type of physical therapy for her major. The other grandfather is an Auburn grad and he wasn't real happy with her choice of schools either, just kidding.
