Quote
One role that Christion Jones takes seriously on the Alabama football team is not taking everything seriously.

"Funny. Extremely funny," veteran quarterback AJ McCarron says of the young wide receiver from Minor High School. "I love him. He's awesome."

How funny is Jones?

"If you can ever be around him, you're not going to stop laughing," McCarron said.

But there's nothing funny about the way Jones is developing this spring as he prepares for his sophomore season.

In Alabama's first scrimmage, he led the team with seven catches for 83 yards and two touchdowns.

Jones followed that Friday in the second scrimmage with five catches for 61 yards and two touchdowns.

"He's a good guy on and off the field," McCarron said. "He does the right things, and that's what you've got to do in Coach's system. If you do the right things, you're going to play." ....

I was very impressed with Jones in Bama's first scrimmage. I kept looking for him to play some defense because he had done so many things for the offense. Seriously, I think he will become Bama's "bread and butter" player for the offense, he can do so many things and do them well.

Sort of like a 2012 Javier Arenas?

Exactly and maybe a little more.
