I finally get to catch a few innings.  She was out by a mile on 2nd.  We got lucky on that call.

One of the most bizarre calls I've ever seen.

Traina got stronger as the game went along. Bama wins 6-0. 8 strike outs for Traina.

How is it that they are only ranked #2?  Is there another team out there that is undefeated?

No, there are no undefeated teams.

Cal. is ranked #1, their record is 33-1

Bama's loss was by #12 Tennessee

Cal's loss was to #11 Hawaii

Good win for the Tide tonight, now they need the other two in the same fashion. The umpires are nothing special in the SEC and it could be country wide. No doubt the runner was out at second, but I don't know if the plate was moving around or maybe dust was getting in the umpires eyes at the plate but he was struggling with the strike zone tonight. But the sad part about the umpire behind the plate tonight is, he's better than the other two that will get back there in the next two games.  :dunno:

Congrats to the Bama ladies and to J Traina. She goes to 22-0 which is the best start by any Bama pitcher. We have had some very good pitchers so this is a very good accomplishment.

Alabama senior Jennifer Fenton set an NCAA record by swiping her 74th consecutive base without being caught. That is incredible.

Bama girls lost a heartbreaker to LSU today 3-2. That is only our 2nd loss of the year. We need to to get back on the winning track tomorrow and win Game 3.

Leslie Jury had got to get control of her control.

In 3 innings she walked 5 and hit one.

That's 6 free base runners in 3 innings.

2 of the three runs scored by LSU were on base via walks.

That being said, she didn't get much run support today,

Bama only had 4 hits.

I agree with you on Jury. She is trying to pitch the corners and when your control isn't that good and the umps aren't giving much, you've got to just be aggressive with your pitches and let the other 8 players try to get some outs for you. You have no chance for an out when you are walking them. I thought Locke came in and did a decent job until she tired a little and Traina put out her fire.

Jury is the key to Bama's chances to get back to the World Series, they can't get there and have a chance with just two pitchers.

Bama was making good contact with their bats in the first half of the game and then they went dead. They need a win tomorrow, big time. Roll Tide!!  :clap:

The Tide showed how good they can be with the win today. Traina pitched as good as I've seen her pitch, she had a no-hitter going in the top of the 6th but an infield hit on a bang-bang play at first cost her.

The players showed more emotion than they usually do today and their play was much better, with the bats and the gloves.
