Wow, that was a close one.

I had an uneasy feeling that the ladies might not be totally focused on taking care of business tonight.

Coach Van Stuedeman recruited many of these Bama players and has been their coach ever since they have been at Bama.  With the exceptions of our fresnmen players, everyblody on this team had a close relationship with CVS.  Add in the presence of former Tide All-American Kelsi Dunn,  this was a difficult situation for our team to be it.  I'm glad they found a way to win, but I knew this one was gona be tough.

Wow, big win for the Tide tonight. Trailing by 2 runs in the 5th and scoring the winning run in the last inning says a lot for this team. There was no big star for the team in this game as traina pitched and won the game but she wasn't near as effective with her pitches as she was at Auburn. Errors almost cost Bama tonight and unless they work on their defense some, it is going to bite them somewhere down the road. Per CPM they have not practiced that much in the month of March due to so many games played and their extended travels.

Hopefully tomorrow they will play like they are capable of and put a good spanking on the Bulldogs. Roll Tide!!!  :clap:

That seems to be what is special about this team....they find a way to win. They don't always overpower their opponents, but even when they don't play their best, they do what they have to.

Softball can be such a strange sport.

I agree. This team doesn't sulk or pout after a bad inning they just reload and come back after their opponent. I sure wish that Sewell hadn't got hurt, she could have made a big difference in how far this team can go.

Roll Tide.  I was a little concerned after the previous post about the error with the leadoff hitter.

Bama's record goes to 34-1 overall

and 11-1 to lead the SEC.

This has been a tough series so far. Miss St Coach VS has the Lady Dogs ready to play against Bama. You know she wants to get at least 1 game from us. Tomorrow should be another close one.

Leslie Jury struggled with her control today.  She pitched 4 1/3 innings and gave up 3 hits,  4 walks and hit 2 batters.  Might as well have been 9 hits.  Add to that a baserunner because of Boccia's error and she had 10 baserunners in 4 innings.  That's not good.  I know she is just a Freshman, but I hope she gets a handle on her control soon.

Bama made some stellar defensive plays today, but also recorded 3 errors.  I hope that part of our game improves too.

This game was a lot closer than it should have been.

Yeah, I posted after last night's game that I had a feeling the the players were somewhat distracted because of their  close personal relationship with Vann.

Yeah these family feuds can turn into a backyard brawl, very distracting to say the least. But it only gets worse next week, LSU comes to town and talk about a backyard brawl, get ready for one.

Hopefully Bama can get on the practice field this week and work on their defense and small ball some because they will need all they can muster up next weekend. Another good win today though.

I'm so glad the month of March is behind them and they only lost one game. maybe now they can get into a routine practice schedule for their upcoming conference games. Their defense is really struggling and they aren't hitting as well as they should to beat teams like LSU, Florida, and Georgia.

If any of you can make it down this weekend, you should get your moneys worth because LSU will have their stinger run out for CPM. It should be very interesting because I figure the media will get heavily involved.
