News of the day

Approximately 1,400 high school coaches are on the grounds for Alabama's annual coaching clinic, which concludes Saturday with a speech by Lou Holtz. Many of the attendees are watching practice, making for an interesting sight of the fields surrounded on many sides by coaches. Many are taking notes. They are not permitted to shoot video.

What's hot

Trent Richardson has departed. Eddie Lacy is out for the spring as he recovers from January surgery to repair his turf-toe condition. Blake Sims is out indefinitely with an injury that he suffered last week playing pickup basketball during spring break. So who are the running backs and what is the pecking order? Junior-to-be Jalston Fowler is leading the small pack of five backs through each drill. He is followed by Dee Hart, who was redshirted as a freshman last fall as he recovered from July knee surgery. Freshman T.J. Yeldon, an early enrollee from Daphne, is running fourth behind a walk-on and ahead of a walk-on.

1400 high school coaches, that is a bunch of them. Dr Lou as a guest speaker, now that might be interesting to hear.

I'm not sure there is anyone out there that is fluent in Louese. I think it is easier to pick up ancient Hebrew.
