DePaul scores 1 in top of 7th, but Bama holds on to win.

Leslie Jury came in with the tieing  run on third and the go ahead run on second and strunk out the final batter of the game.

A tough win, but a win.

Seemed like we had a hangover from the Tennessee loss.

27-1

Roll Tide

It was a win but not an impressive win. Bama's bats are very cold right now but they still find a way to win. If there was a bright spot in the win tonight it was when CPM brought in Jury in the last inning with the winning run at second and 1 out. This was a great experience maker for her as she got both batters, one on a 3rd strike bunt effort and the other on a strike out. This kind of effort will make her a good pitcher down the road.

The bad news tonight was the injury to Lauren Sewell. I haven't heard the report on her yet but it looked like she injured her right knee pretty bad, she had to be helped from the field. This puts a lot of pressure on the pitching staff this week as they will play 2 games tomorrow, one game Sunday and then play a doubleheader at Auburn on Tuesday. Locke did a good job when she relieved Sewell tonight but only lasted 3 innings befored she tired. The worst thing for Bama right now is to have any extra inning games, especially this weeekend, we need Traina as fresh as we can for Auburn. Roll Tide!!!

Bad news about Sewell. We need her. We seem to struggle with anyone except Traina pitching.

Not pretty but it is a win. I will not complain about a 27-1 record.

Roll Tide.

Traina gave up 2 7th inning homeruns today, very unusual for her. This game got way too close there at the end. Give DePaul credit though, they are a very good hitting team, well coached. They could be a real tough team if their pitching was a little better. Bama hit the ball better today, they only had 3 strike outs against DePaul and 2 against Longwood. When I say they hit the ball better, I mean they were putting the ball in play somewhere in both games.

Sewell is wearing a full leg cast. I couldn't find out a thing about how serious the injury is. Maybe there will be something out tomorrow on this. I hope this isn't a season ending injury, but he didn't look good when she left the field last night.
