Let’s Start Paying College Athletes (January 1, 2012)

Smith, a former white-collar criminal defense lawyer with the high-powered law firm Patton Boggs, has been the executive director of the National Football League Players Association since 2009. That is to say, he runs the union that represents professional football players. Last year, he wrestled with the bullies running the N.F.L., who locked out the players when they couldn’t reach a labor agreement. Now he is setting his sights on an even bigger bully: the N.C.A.A.........

Smith has ruined pro football for the average American family by running up the costs to attend. Now he wants to bully his way to ruining college football. Typical yankee, butting in where he has no business, for his own personal gain. But he won't have to worry about his neighbors hating his guts this time. There isn't a decent college football team within 500 miles of him.

Oh! BTW, they won't ruin college football immediately. But don't be crying to me when that little stipend for players is just the beginning.
