Title: Why Be Armed ( From a retired Marine Major) Post by: rueben on February 28, 2012, 10:37:30 PM Just received the following email from one of my brothers in law. ( The cool one of the two yankee ones). I think this pretty well sums it up.

the news stations , pistol permit numbers and gun shops . Between January 1 and February 28 2010, 1,066 pistol permits were issued. During the same time frame in 2011, 5,465 permits were issued. as a reference , I was working a wreck in downtown Mobile it was raining pretty hard and the wreck was in a fairly sharp curve of a four lane street . we heard tires sliding and looked to see a Ford van skidding sideways in the curve. the back wheels of the van hit the curb and the van flipped . the older black gentleman that was driving the van just didn't see the emergency / police vehicles in time and panicked losing control of the van . a couple MPD officers went over to the old guy to see if he was alright . he was fine , but as they helped him out of the van they noticed a pistol in the door compartment . one of the officers ask the man for his pistol permit and he replied "I don't have one" the office told him he should have one or he was breaking the law that's when the solid gold answer came from the old guy ... he said and I quote ... "yes sir officer I know I should but I don't , but it's like this , I never got a permit but I would rather ya'll catch me with the gun than these other MF'ers out here catch me without it" Title: Re: Why Be Armed ( From a retired Marine Major) Post by: 2Stater on March 02, 2012, 01:58:39 PM This is my best friend.
