Title: Re: For sake of discussion: Post by: McBaman on February 24, 2012, 08:35:24 PM Well he's gonna be active for the Miss St game on Sat so maybe that settles it.
Title: Re: For sake of discussion: Post by: lstephen on February 25, 2012, 11:07:26 PM He played. Pretty well. Showed some hustle. If Grant says he plays, he plays. If not, so be it. CAG is THE MAN!!!!

He played as if his attitude may have changed. He took a 10-12 footer from the side once, but that is his signature shot and understandable. He stayed around the lane and played his role, not going out to the top of the key to yell at point guards. Progress!Title: Re: For sake of discussion: Post by: Chechem on February 26, 2012, 06:33:26 AM He played. Pretty well. Showed some hustle. If Grant says he plays, he plays. If not, so be it. Progress!I think all Bama fans held their breath during the second half when the refs stopped the game to review video of JG's called foul. It appeared that Green gave a MSU player an uppercut elbow (away from the ball), so the refs stopped to check it. Meanwhile, the announcers started talking 'flagrant foul' and criticizing JG's "old habits" of getting cheap shots... Fortunately the refs didn't find anything in the video, and the announcers concluded that the video was inadequate to show anything conclusive. Whew! I was most impressed with how he ran the floor on fast breaks. He had two big dunks because of his hustle. The only time he came out to the top of the circle was to set a screen. I think CAG got his point accoss to him. Title: Re: For sake of discussion: Post by: Chechem on February 26, 2012, 07:14:38 AM He played. Pretty well. Showed some hustle. Indeed, it would seem that part of CAG's point had to do with change in behavior and team play. Just guessing. :dunno: Title: Re: For sake of discussion: Post by: pmull on February 26, 2012, 07:28:59 AM No one knows what Green, Releford and Steele did to get supended. But CAG said he got information in Baton Rouge of something that happened prior to the trip. That would rule out being supended for selfish play, lack of effort in practice, etc. CAG would know these things. I guess something happened off the court. CAG also said it was unrelated to Mitchell's supension which we all think is bad attitude.
Regardless of what happened I hope Green stays focused and plays hard the rest of the way. We can win without him but we are a better team with him. I had a doctor this past week tell me that it was something very serious and she would say no more about it. Maybe we are all better off by not knowing, public opinion can be very cruel. Sure didn't look like enough of a pop to justify the long time on his knees hiding his face behind the bench. What was that all about?
