Title: "Tennessee AD Dave Hart: Don't doubt Anthony Grant"

Quote
Did you catch the intrasquad basketball scrimmage Saturday afternoon in Coleman Coliseum?

Alabama-Tuscaloosa beat Alabama-Knoxville 62-50.

Dave Hart chuckles when he hears joking references to the alleged attempts to turn his new school into his old school.

"I do," he said.

He should. It really is a compliment, and not without merit. There's more than a little crimson blood wearing Tennessee orange these days, starting with the new UT athletics director.

At Alabama, Hart ran the athletics department on a day-to-day basis as Mal Moore's right-hand man. At Tennessee, he's the boss in name and deed.

"We're trying to do what everybody's trying to do," he said. "We're in pursuit of comprehensive excellence."

The only thing worse than hiring Dave Hart (at Bama) was the timing of hiring Dave Hart.

2008?  "Hart's peers use terms and words such as class, integrity, respect, visionary and national leader to describe Dave Hart." You?
