The magazine routinely shoots in exotic beach locations around the world, but kept it closer to home for at least a few shots. "It took us a couple days to master saying it," swimsuit issue editor Diane Smith told USA Today. "We thought we can do some good for our country, really help a region that needs to be showcased." Smith said that in addition to local Apalachicola scenes, two local dogs will make an appearance in the issue. SI has shot portions of its annual swimsuit issue in Florida before, but never along the Gulf coast. The cover photo from this year's issue has not yet been announced, but Fox News and other media outlets are speculating that it will be 19-year-old Kate Upton.
