However, CNS has our team in position to challenge for championships every year. We will need some players to step up as leaders, stay hungry, avoid key injuries and get a few breaks along the way. The loss of Dre, Barron, Upshaw, and Hightower are especially big. On offense we lose Richardson, Vlahos, and relieable receivers Hanks, Maze (punt returner, too), & Smelley. We still have a problem with our kicking game. We need a reliable FG kicker for FG's 44-52 yards, a kickoff kicker who can kick it out of the endzone on kickoffs, and a punter who can kick it long when needed and kick it out-of-bounds deep when needed. Positives: We have a winning QB and 4 starters from the O-line returning. We have a proven RB in Lacy who can replace TR, plus Fowler as a backup. We lose all our proven WR's, but Norwood looked great agasinst LSU and will be a junior. Bell also looked okay against LSU. We have Lowery, Milliner, & Sunseri returning for the DB area along with 5 star Clinton-Dix. Mosely & DePriest return in the LB position. The key, in my mind is, can we replace 3 solid starters in the DB area, especially the most vital area, both corners. I don't think he will be back, but I'm not 100% sure. Alabama plays many players on both sides of the ball besides just the starters building the whole team with more experience. We also lost many to injuries this past year. 2 or 3 of the offensive tackles had season ending knee surgery. Next year will be here soon enough. I am so happy with the finish two weeks ago. |
