Momma wasn't happy Collins picked the Tide over LSU.

I was watching, and I can't believe his mom acted like that on national tv. SHe disrespected her son and make him look foolish in front of everybody. That was selfish and immature and ridiculous. You may disagree in oprivate, bit you don't act like a 3 yr old on national tv. That was disgraceful.

I hate I missed that. I'll have to wait for the youtube. Great pickups for Bama. Another outstanding recruiting class for CNS.

The question now is will he be able to handle the pressure his mother puts on him for the next month?  RTR

My buddy and I were just discussing that and he told me that Collins' girlfriend is already enrolled at Bama. So we decided:  Girlfriend trumps mama.  Roll Tide

I can see it now. He's sitting in his bedroom thinking....... Who should I make happy on this? My sexy girlfriend or the woman who beat me all my life?

Landon has been living with his Dad and stepmom (who played basketball at Bama) since he was about 11.  He said he really made this decision 2 years ago.  My guess is that Mom has regrets that she "lost" her son 6 years ago and now feels like she's losing him all over again.  (and maybe has issues with the girlfriend @ Bama?)

Yeah, she behaved poorly though.

I did not see this when I was posting on another thread. I really do not know why I even post on a message board. It looks like I stole your material.  :tinfoil:

This +1. This was one of the biggest moments in Collins life and she ruined it by being immature and selfish - wanted to take the spotlight off her son and put it on herself. I would feel the same way if he chose LSwho and she acted that way. No wonder he doesn't live with mom.

BTW, when choosing between mom and girlfriend, I have heard this most of my life (and I will paraphrase due to the crudity of language): when going up against that sugar, remember that it is undefeated.

#+  I was trying to be forumly correct also. I like your analogy better.

Wow.  I feel sorry for her that she is more concerned with pacifying her Tigahs than supporting her sons.  She seems extremely high maintainence just based on a short clip.

If his decision was truly made 2 years ago, have people considered the girlfriend is actually following him instead of him following her??  It's not about her.  It's about where he wants to play.  I wouldn't doubt the stepmom had more influence than the girlfriend or the mom.

I'm not confident he won't flip-flop between now and then but if he comes here I hope he has family support.  Sucks for him.

I agree. It's hard enough to be 18 years old, away from home and trying to adjust to college and Bama football without having bad blood back home. I didn't know about the stepmom, was that her who came over and gave him a hug? I hope he's getting that family support from somewhere, all kids need that.          ---All that being said, he's a HOSS! and I'm glad he's with the Tide.

It seems the Dad and Step-Mother are the positive influences in his (Collins) life. Port Sulphur is white boot country so seafood is not fresh unless it is still kicking. I was PMing stories about Venice with another forum member yesterday.  That is a long drive his Step-Mom makes across the GNO bridge and causeway to Geismar and back each day! They seem to be good people! RTR

Well 2 more young men have chosen a good thing. Welcome aboard guys. If a Mom of a child does not respect her child's' choices then she must have raised him not to be a man. Now I think he showed he was a man and chose his future in the right way. RTR!
