Title: more 2012 schedule
Post by: bama87 on December 28, 2011, 04:45:32 PM
CNS has interesting thought on schedule and open date. Tweet from Cecil...

Saban, asked about 2012 SEC schedule, said UA had to choose between open date before LSU or no Home games in October.

Wow some choice they gave Saban, kinda like choosing between hanging or the electric chair.

Interesting that they worked with the schools and gave them some kind of options.

Bye week or home game?  Doesn't seem like much of a choice.  Obviously Bama will need a home game during October, to get fans into town.  October is, in my opinion, the best month to see a game, weather-wise.

I don't have the schedule in front of me, so I could be wrong, but I don't think they worked with the teams.  Probably what happened was they laid down the law on the SEC schedule.  Then there were two weeks where there wasn't a conference game scheduled, so UA got to choose which week to put in the cupcake and which week to put in the bye.

We have an SEC game the week before LSU, so apparently there was some choice on that particular game.

Missouri spends October at home, and November on the road.  Who did the scheduling?   :-\
