Doesn't seem like much of a choice. Obviously Bama will need a home game during October, to get fans into town. I don't have the schedule in front of me, so I could be wrong, but I don't think they worked with the teams. Probably what happened was they laid down the law on the SEC schedule. Then there were two weeks where there wasn't a conference game scheduled, so UA got to choose which week to put in the cupcake and which week to put in the bye.
