Guess Charlie Weis is off the list, now that he found another job.

Muschamp?  He'll need something soon.

Wisconsin has a balanced attack,--runs to passing. But almost all his experience has come from either the Pac 12 or Big 10. Not saying he couldn't be lured away, but he was born in Wisconsin.

Didn't Fuente just accept the Memphis job?

Did Morris go to tOSU for CUM?

Good list.

Monken replaced the WVU head coach at OSU. Has he put his own offense in place yet? Recruiting?

Montgomery only has 3 years as Baylor OC. He came with Briles from Houston so their offensive philosophies must be entertwined.

Our best bet may be a HC looking for a better job. Dana Holgorsen would cost $1.4 or that vicinity. With the bonuses tied to championships the cut in base salary would be negated.

Ok, First I think it is safe to say the OC will have to run a pro style O.
So who is out there that is young and a pretty good pro style OC, or at least an assitant in a Pro style that could come in and not change much, because i believe that is what Saban will be looking for....and of course it has to be a great recruiter or at least some one players like.

What Senior said. Whoever Saban gets will have to run the pro style O, with a heavy emphasis on the run. Also, he will have to be a great recruiter. And he will have to be able to coexist with Saban, because Saban does not allow OCs free reign. I'm not sure who it will be, but you can bet that Saban already has his sites set on someone.

Wow, Bill King is reporting Mangino is in talks with a couple of schools for an OC postion one a West coast style and one a spread....Could that be Bama?

A pro style is kind of West coast..kind of.

I don't think we have any coolers strong enough to hold up to Weis sitting on it for half the game.

To speak on ole Gus, to be perfectly honest Arky st is a good job for him to learn to become a HC.

I know its a Big step down from some of those schools he was talking to, but if you look big picture, he is from Arky, He knows the area, No real competition, and if he plays his cards right the Big Arky job could open in a couple of years.

No Nutt. Fuente took the Memphis job. I think our OC may come from the NFL. With a lot of coaches out there, I think CNS has a list in his desk. He is always prepared.
By the way does CJM coach in the BCS game?

 2 questions I have?

Does CNS ask CJM to coach and practice for the BCS NCG??

Or does CNS ask CJM not to coach and don't attend practice for BCS NCG?

And get ready: Dyer to follow him to Arky State.

Good choice, but he wouldn't leave as HC to become an OC! JMHO

I think highly of Cutcliffe, and met with him when he was at Ole Miss.  He has an excellent position at Duke; and he wouldn't work for CNS.  ;)

ESPN's on-screen ticker was reporting last night that CJMc will coach Bama in the NC game.

I'm sure CNS is prepared for this.  I'd love to see an internal promotion.  Then coach can bring in some fresh blood as a position coach.  On the other hand, if there is a really good person from the NFL who will come and stay for a few years, it would be hard to pass up the opportunity to add that to the staff.

IMHO, some change in the coaching staff over time is good.  CNS runs the show but fresh ideas are always good for an organization.  Whoever the new OC is, I hope he will push the hell out of AJ.

I think he will need to run a pro-style offense.  He also better be a work-a-holic and able to take getting yelled at.  As good as a coach as CNS is, from what I have heard from other coaches who was on the recruiting trail and at clinics, he is a hard man to work for.  That being said perfection ain't easy.

As much as I would love to be know as the OC for the University of Alabama, there are many more out there more qualified than me.

Well, there is a "Justin Fuente" who recently became head coach at Memphis.  But maybe he means another JF!   :tinfoil:

If we held out a year, Jimbo may be available at the end of next season ;)
