Title: Daily reading 12/9/11 Knowing he is beside you Post by: ricky023 on December 09, 2011, 01:46:31 PM "Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
One day, the secret service visited a church to check it out for the President of the United States. For some reason the President decided not to come, but the news was already out around town. Soon people were calling the church to find out if anyone could come that Sunday. I wonder if you could think of who ranks higher that you would love to have in your Service. A lady called to say that she wasn't a member, but she wanted to see the President. She asked the pastor, "Is it true that the President of the United States is going to be in your services on Sunday?" The preacher said, "No madam, he will not be here, but the King of kings will be, and that ought to be good enough for you." Think about when you and someone gather in his name and he is standing right beside you, over you, and in you. Jesus meets with His people, and He doesn't care about the credentials of the guest list. He is in their midst. He does care that I'm poor, broken, but he shares those pains with me. This is what makes him even more special. It's easy to become complacent--until we remember that the Lord is in our midst when we gather. And He is more worthy of honor than any potentate. Ask him for his presence at all gatherings, but remember what you say or do is right in front of him. Are you embarrassed for what sees you do or hears you say? God Bless! Father help us today to recognize your awesome power and presence. Help us with our desires and needs. Bless the sick and afflicted, men and women in Service to this country to keep it free. We now Praise your Holy name and desire to be your hands and feet in this World. In the name of Jesus I pray.
