Title: American Airlines responds after Alec Baldwin kicked off flight Post by: Coach Hank Crisp on December 07, 2011, 06:47:50 PM http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31749_162-57338722-10391698/american-airlines-responds-after-alec-baldwin-kicked-off-flight/
The clown refused to turn off his iPad because he was playing "Words with Friends" and was abusive to flight crew. Should have been arrested. Captain turned flight around, went back to gate and had him removed. Baldwin was on Conan's show last night tweeting and stuff. On show, Baldwin talked about running for Mayor of NYC, after Bloomberg's term is over. Quote Without mentioning the "30 Rock" star by name, the airline said an "extremely vocal customer" declined to turn off his phone when asked to do so by a flight attendant. Several passengers tweeted about the incident, including this one from Michael J. Wolfe: "On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane We had to go back to the gate. "Terrible that everyone had to wait." Other reports say he was booted for more than just playing a game. A passenger on the New York-bound flight told the New York Post that the actor was talking on his phone, and a crew member told the paper that Baldwin was "violent, abusive and aggressive." Title: Re: American Airlines responds after Alec Baldwin kicked off flight Post by: 2Stater on December 07, 2011, 09:09:08 PM I found out about his real character back in 2004. He said if Bush was re-elected that he would leave the country and live elsewhere. He didn't. Showed that he is not a man of his word.

Baldwin is on "Weekend Update" apologizing to "Alec Baldwin" for having him removed from flight for refusing to turn off his phone and stop playing "Words with Friends"! It is funny but he still should have been arrested. Dressed as pilot Captain Steve Rogers, Baldwin joined Seth Myers for SNL’s Weekend Update to extend a heartfelt apology for the incident to, well, himself. “It was awful Seth,” mustachioed Captain Rogers said. “Which is why it was important for me to come here and on behalf of everyone at American Airlines, issue an apology to Mr. Alec Baldwin!” “Mr. Baldwin is an American treasure". That way as you are traveling out of range of one tower your call doesn't get dropped. The problem with using them in an airplane is that when you are 5 miles high without any obstructions you can get a signal from lots and lots of towers that you would not normally be able to see from the ground. So it ends up causing "congestion" with the cell phone system since ALL of those towers will try to field the call. That is how it was explained to me, but I don't know how accurate that is. It makes sense though.

It makes sense though. You do not need to know why. The industry wide rule for airline passengers is to turn off cell phones, place your tray in the locked position and bring all seat backs to the upright position. These rules apply to all passengers including Alec Baldwin. You can play words w/ friends but your "move" wouldn't be sent until it was off airplane mode. He could have still been figuring the best combos without breaking the rules.
I quit that game. I couldn't stand the cheating. When your dumbest friends are suddenly master wordsmiths it will really tick you off. The dumbest people I knew were coming up with freaking 12 letter words with about 8 consonants strung together. I called BS on wordswithfriends...deleted from my phone.
