Title: Daily Scripture 11/20/11 Be a good Steward
Post by: ricky023 on November 20, 2011, 09:29:36 AM
"Exodus 34:1-9 (1) And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest. (9) And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance."

Why did Moses need new stone tablets “like the first ones”? Because Moses smashed to pieces the original tablets (see Ex 32:19). Exodus 32 describes how the people of Israel grew weary of waiting for Moses to come down from Mount Sinai; he had been gone for 40 days and 40 nights, and the people thought that Moses was dead or long gone. So Aaron, Moses’ brother, led the people in idol worship, gluttony and, very likely, sexual immorality. When Moses came down from the mountain and saw what was happening, “his anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to pieces” (Ex 32:19). The words of God were destroyed. We need to be a good steward to please God for what talents he has given us to work with in our lifetime. God Bless!

Father we thank you for the privilege to call upon your Holy name for prayer. Let us be good stewards today. Let praise you in all things we do. We love you, glorify you, and walk in your ways. In the name of Jesus I pray. AMEN
