Title: NCAA Investigation of Penn State Would Be Unprecedented Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 19, 2011, 11:21:09 AM I think this is a huge stretch by the NCAA. This could open up a whole new can of worms with the NCAA trying to micromanage all colleges.
In a letter dated Thursday, NCAA President Mark Emmert wrote that the NCAA will “examine Penn State’s exercise of institutional control over its intercollegiate athletics program, as well as the actions, and inactions, of relevant responsible personnel.” http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2011/11/ncaa_investigation_of_penn_sta.html Title: Re: NCAA Investigation of Penn State Would Be Unprecedented Post by: rueben on November 19, 2011, 12:00:17 PM bylaw 2.4
And I think they should get the death penalty. Not for what Sandusky did. But for the huge cover up of what happened in an ATHLETIC FACILITY by a member of the ATHLETIC STAFF. They should be kicked out of the ncAa. Just because Sandusky didn't give the kid a twenty dollar bill and buy him an ice ream cone doesn't mean should be overlooked by the NCAA. Title: Re: NCAA Investigation of Penn State Would Be Unprecedented Post by: MLB10 on November 19, 2011, 05:07:49 PM I said they would get hit w lack on institutional control. Glad they are not gonna let it slide just bc they have the real law on them too.
Title: Re: NCAA Investigation of Penn State Would Be Unprecedented Post by: XBAMA on November 19, 2011, 05:38:39 PM the way that case is shaping up ?
being hit with "lack of" just might be the worst thing that happens to them . just sayin' ... :dunno: the bad part is that all of the wrong doers will be gone by then (fired/maybe jail) and the poor suckers that follow the pedos & the protectors will pay the price not that I have a problem with that I hope they get slammed into darkest pits of hello for what they did to those kids ... I'm willing to bet there were a TON of people that knew just what was going on ... not just the high profile names we are hearing of either . <rant switch off> Title: Re: NCAA Investigation of Penn State Would Be Unprecedented Post by: BAMAWV on November 19, 2011, 07:14:26 PM Idiot talking heads on the news talk shows, that don't know anything about football, screaming for the NCAA to react. The NCAA has nothing to do with this, as in the case of a coach being pulled over for drunk driving. Instead of just telling them they are all a bunch of idiots, the idiots at the NCAA open an investigation. PR ONLY.
This whole PSU thing is perfect for all the journalists that hate football. Or all the journalist that went to a school with a crummy athletic program. This gets them even with all the jocks that kept "borrowing" their girlfiends without asking. Title: Re: NCAA Investigation of Penn State Would Be Unprecedented Post by: MLB10 on November 19, 2011, 11:51:26 PM I think this could go much deeper though...think boosters & favors. That would definitely be within their realm.

That would definitely be within their realm. How do you figure that? If Sandusky had kept this off campus it would have nothing to do with PSU at all. Please explain why an athletic regulatory body has jurisdiction over these criminal acts. Does the NCAA come after Alabama because of Jimmy Johns? |
