* On Georgia Southern: They do what they do extremely well. They run a flex-bone offense, sort of Georgia Tech-style offense. It's like a wishbone offense. One of the best running teams in the country. This is a team that's 9-1 for a reason. Teams like this beat Division-I teams all the time. Saban said Alabama has to have the proper respect for what they do. Saban made a baseball analogy to say the end of the season is upon the Tide and it's time to focus on what Alabama's goals are.

* Saban on scout team: We have scout team player of the week each week. There have been a number of guys, so no specifics. Saban said he puts certain guys into positions to emulate other guys. Saban said Blake Sims will be one of those guys.

* Saban on the BCS: I don't really care about that. I've been watching enough film in that room. I could care less about that because I don't understand it to start with.

Saban on Alabama being better in 2nd half: "Maybe I shouldn't say this, but we kind of get everybody's best game." Teams come out charged up
