Title: Is Muschamp on the hot seat at Florida?
Post by: Jamos on October 18, 2011, 01:58:31 PM
This seems totally out of line to be thinking anything of the sort, but has Muschamp gotten himself in trouble already with the higher ups at the University of Florida. It's not out of the ordinary to read about the athletic program at Florida with all of the player issues this year as well as the past years, but is the head coach making some waves in the Florida water.

I'm sure most folks saw or have read about his tirade on the sidelines during the game with Auburn Saturday night. Was it justifide?  Most folks that were watching would probably say yes, in reference to the decision of the official to award Auburn the fumbled ball as they recovered it. On the replay, it was pretty evident that the Auburn player did not give the Florida player ample room, per the rules, to make the catch.

This is when Muschamp lost it all. It must have been at least a 10-15 tirade with each of the officials that he could get close enough to and if you can read lips, those words used aren't used in a Sunday School class. I can understand him being mad but was this the time and place to really blow your stack. There are procedures for coaches to file a complaint with the SEC office concerning such discrepancies.

I think he has done a lot of damage to his head coaching career and that is a shame because this is his first year. I can see Refs call making him mad, but maybe he could could have controled himself better and followed the SEC process and filed a complaint after the game. I really wondered why one of his assistants didn't step in and get him under control.

It's all said and done now and millions of people witnessed it, but I think he has really damaged his resume concerning any future jobs and it's a shame because he really has a passion for the game of football. With Florida's record being what it is this year, and I'm sure they will lose some more, you have to wonder if he hasn't jumped into the hot skillet with the school officials and is not too long  away from having to find another job.

If Florida was winning some games impressively and showing some promise of better things to come, I wouldn't feel this way but I see their program going backwards and that's not good for Muschamp. I think Muschamp can thank CNS and the Bama team for most of his misfortune. JMO

He can blame Alabama for the misfortune.  But the tirade is all on him.

From what I have seen Muschamp is not ready to be a Head Coach. Getting upset with officals is part of coaching but you can not let it affect your team. I think Auburn scored right after the muffed punt because the players were confused.

I also think hiring Charlie Weiss as the OC is proving to be a bad decision.

Saturday's game was huge for him, trying to get UF back on track after slaughters with Bama and LSU. Also, I think sometimes coaches argue not to get anything accomplished on that play, but trying to get a "make up" call later.

I think Coach Muschamp will have to see himself doing this stuff on tape before he can come down to earth. The fans will be calling for his head if he is not careful, then the school will react. JMO. RTR!

Saturday's game was a huge game for them because it's a rivalry and Auburn was NC last year. Most folks, including myself, thought Florida would win the game.It was watched by a lot of folks, including a lot of recruits and their parents.

I don't see that minute of anger affecting his future coaching career.  It will be completely forgotten in a couple weeks.  Heck, if he'd won the game, it would probably already be forgotten.

True.  Winning erases and excuses stupidity (reference: Les Miles).
